100 years ago my relatives, along with many other Mennonites, escaped violence in Russia and fled to Canada.

Before that, Abraham Harder, my great, great, great grandfather, ran an orphanage in the Grossweide Moloschna Colony in Russia. He loved the Lord, prayed bold prayers, and saw God provide in miraculous ways!

This book is written by my Mom, Teresa Klassen, and it is based on his diary. It is a retelling of a part of that story in a way kids can understand. It was made to help people follow along as she read the story aloud at the family celebration in June 2025.

It was a pleasure to come alongside her project and create illustrations throughout the book.
